Rib Crib Raises $32,000 for American Cancer Society!
On June 4, 2007, Rib Crib BBQ & Grill hosted its fifth annual golf invitational at the Golf Club of Oklahoma. With 131 golfers, the event raised over $32,000 for the American Cancer Society.
The F&M Bank & Trust Co., The Holmes Organisation, Dr. Pepper, Principal Financial, Sara Lee, SemGroup L.P. and Smalley Equipment Co. are all major supporters of the tournament.
"We're extremely proud to be part of this worthy cause," said Bret Chandler, President & CEO of Rib Crib. "It is important to us to raise awareness of the impact cancer has in our communities and, most importantly, what we can do to prevent and eliminate it.
"Golfers and volunteers enjoyed all-you-can-eat barbecue on course, courtesy of Rib Crib. Participants also had a chance to win a 2007 Chevy Tahoe sponsored by Lake Country Chevrolet. Karen Earle, Regional Director-Corporate Relations of the American Cancer Society stated, "Rib Crib puts on an excellent golf tournament every year and we are very excited to once again, receive the proceeds from the event. These funds will help support the American Cancer Society's research, education and advocacy efforts, as well as services for patients in and around Tulsa."
The awards ceremony and silent auction, sponsored by Merrill Lynch and Cox Business Services, took place immediately following the event.
